October 15, 2016, Madison, WI —Mallatt’s Pharmacy, an employee-owned independent pharmacy founded 90 years ago, transferred its retail pharmacy operations to Walgreen’s on October 6, 2016 and will focus its business on its two long term care pharmacies, Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacies in Madison and Menomonee Falls, WI.

The strategic move allows the company to better allocate resources on growing its long term care pharmacy business, Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacy, which was formed in 2000. With operations in Madison and Menomonee Falls, Mallatt’s Homecare Pharmacy provides high-quality prescription services for residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing homes.

“We are optimistic about growing the long-term care pharmacy side of Mallatt’s,” said Mike Flint, president and chief executive officer. “Walgreen’s has been a great partner in this transition, and we are confident they will handle our retail customers’ prescription needs.

“We are excited about the growth that we’ve experienced in both of our LTC pharmacies since we acquired our Milwaukee-area long term care pharmacy. This was an important strategic move for us to continue that growth.” Flint said.
