Position Summary: Assist licensed pharmacist in expediting prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and in accordance with established pharmacy principles, policies and procedures and/or law.
Responsibilites/Duties:
- Receive new prescriptions and verify that information is complete and accurate
- Receive and process refill requests
- Prepares and procures medicines and pharmaceutical preparations according to written orders by authorized medical providers
- Call insurance companies and adjudicate claims, when required
- Answer incoming phone calls, and respond to requests
- Process refill authorizations
- Retrieve medications from stock
- Prepare records for delivery
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results
- Contribute to inventory control measures
- Assist with quality improvement for the pharmacy department
- Contribute to maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisors

Experience:
- Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience preferred
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred (CPhT)
Physical Job Requirements:
- Standing for up to 12 hours
- Having a range of motion from kneeling, to bending over to raising arms above head to retrieve stock
- Lifting and/or carrying up to 40 lbs
- Reading fine and/or small print
- Working off a computer screen for 8-10 hours a day
Work Status:
- Full-time or Part-time
- Monday-Friday 8:00AM-7:00PM
- Rotating Saturdays 9:00AM-5:00PM
- Sundays-CLOSED
- Additional hours possible in October
